Associate Professor at LVBE, Ph. D. Romain PIERRON spoke at the

inaugural evening of Thursday, February 6th 2020, at the “Nef des Sciences association” at 18:30

as part of the exhibition “THE MECHANICS OF PLANTS” organized by the NEF DES SCIENCES in Mulhouse.

“In meadows, forests or on the bark of trees, plants are all around us. Yet, we know little about them.

How do they reproduce? How do they grow?

What are the different species that exist?

The exhibition “The mechanics of plants” answers all these questions.

At the same time scientific, poetic and aesthetic, it invites us to (re)discover the diversity and functioning of the plant kingdom.

What if, for one evening, we could listen to plants?

While the different modes of communication of the plant kingdom are beginning to be studied by researchers, Caroline Fest, musician, offers us a poetic and musical performance that reveals a communication emitted by plants.

For his part, the associate professor Romain PIERRON will share his knowledge and the research he is conducting at the Vine Biotechnologies et Environment Laboratory (LVBE) “.
