His specialty is wood diseases. He leads the Eur\u00e9ka project, one of the first nine programs selected by the Ministry of Agriculture as part of the &#8220;Action plan against declining vineyards&#8221;. The idea is to find preventive but also curative solutions,&#8221; insists the researcher. And for that, he does not hesitate to take inspiration from the work of colleagues in other disciplines such as forestry. &#8220;To invent is to think outside the box,&#8221; said Alfred EINSTEIN. He regularly reminds his teams of this.<\/p>\n<p>He is exploring endotherapy, which consists of injecting active molecules into the core of the vine&#8217;s trunk so that they act directly on the pathogens present in the white rot. He is also working on double grafting and the impact of cultural practices.<\/p>\n<p>In April 2018, he took over the direction of the Alsatian vineyard technical commission. The objective: to federate and coordinate all Alsatian research with the interprofession (Civa), the winegrowers&#8217; unions (Ava), the technical institutes (IFV and the chamber of agriculture).
